I've been going to Emerald City Comicon almost every year now and this time around was one of the official photographers. It was great.
I mostly did photos for the costume contest and was asked to do some of the behind the stage photos of contestants as they came on / off stage as the judges deliberated.
This was also super intersting because I was basically given a backdrop in an almost completely unlit room. The backstage area had a few spot lights for table lighting but otherwise was completely unlit.
The lighting was done with my LED light as a flood on the backdrop and off camera flash on umbrella as the fill.
I had help from one of my friends, Rachel which was awesome.
These pictures are my favorites from the whole bunch. The characters owned the personas of who they were dressed as. For more pictures, click through to my Flickr page here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/thejedi/sets/72157651640403541/
