So, this is a screen shot from some tv show.
Look at how the middle ground is in focus and the foreground (head of other person, over the shoulder) as well as background (windows with bars and a garden) are not. But: The visual place where foreground and background bokehs come together again is indeed in focus — the leaves are not blurry.
Isn’t that amazing!?
I have noticed it a lot in photographs as well, although never when looking through the lens.
